What's the Deal?
This blog has laid silent for over a month. Not so much because I haven't had anything to say or anything interesting going on - I probably have. But nothing earth shattering that needed to be shared.
Then, I bought a bag of Chips Ahoy. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip. I remember when you'd buy a package of Chips Ahoy, and most other cookies, and you'd get a package of paper or paper like origin and you'd get that band of metal on the end of the package. Just the thing to help you keep your cookies fresh. You'd simply close the package, roll up the end and bend over the tabs and presto - the package would be closed.
Now, no such advantage. I looked for the tabs - they're not there. I looked for something better, an improvement on the metal tabs perhaps, but alas, no such luck. The plastic packaging gapes open like the mouth of a whale feeding on a school of fish - and because it's thin plastic, there's no hope of closing the bag and having it stay closed.
Surely this is a response to something. Saving money? Ridiculous, it wasn't too expensive before! Health concerns? Are there confirmed reports of someone being stabbed by the metal tabs? Has terrorism reached my Chips Ahoy? Say it aint so! Say it aint so!
Guess I'll just have to eat the cookies faster before they go stale? Now that'd be a travesty.
